Opening Reception for “Under the Skin”: Portraits at the Hickman
City of Imagination invites you to an Opening Reception for the exhibit “Under the Skin”: Portraits at the Hickman.  Local artist Stephen Schatz has lived and worked in Paris, traveled and studied extensively through Europe, and is currently the Professor of Art and Art History for St. Petersburg College. His subtle portraits are of people you’d likely see anywhere, and in whom you see the substance beneath their everyday faces.
Opening Reception is First Friday, November 6, from 5-7 pm, at the Catherine Hickman Theatre Lobby 5501 27th Ave S in Gulfport.
Complimentary light refreshments and cash bar available. Admission and parking is free.
The exhibition will run through November 30, 2009, and is available for viewing during normal Lobby hours: Monday thru Friday 9-5pm.

November 14, 2009 - flutes4, A PROFESSIONAL FLUTE QUARTET CONCERT
Flutes4 is a professional flute quartet based in the Tampa Bay area.  The members are Martha Wadlington Buck, John Gonzalez, Deanna Kilbourne Mathews and Joseph Rose.   Flutes4 is known for its exceptional variety of repertoire, including classical, jazz, folk, world, holiday and popular music.  In performance, futes4 members often expand the flute family to include piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, Baroque flute, Irish flute and other types of ethnic flutes and recorders.   www.flutes4.com
