Rolling Shutters

Security and Hurricane Protection Rolling shutters are a sophisticated security system for windows, doors and other exterior openings. They are customized to fit any application size and thus provide an effective burglary deterrent when completely closed. The shutter system can even be integrated into an alarm system. Especially in coastal areas, the popularity of security rolling shutters is increasing due to their ability of withstanding hurricane force winds and flying debris. RollShield LLC. has always emphasized on providing high-quality products. Recently implemented building codes within coastal areas require shutters to pass stringent standardized impact tests. Rolling shutters are operated manually or motorized from the inside. Special features, i.e. manual emergency override, individual group controls (IGC), and total integration with computerized home systems allow an even more
convenient shutter operation.

Accordion Shutters

Accordion shutters provide substantial protection against hurricane force winds, flying debris, theft and forced entry. They are constructed of high-impact, weather-resistant extruded aluminum to protect windows, sliding patio or balcony doors. An Accordion shutter is a very strong and durable shutter that moves horizontally between an upper and lower track. Accordion shutters are permanently installed and can be opened and closed as one unit, moving from left to right or vice-versa. Interlocking aluminum blades make up the protective wall of the shutter. The accordion shutter glides along on tracks and a wheel assembly which provides easy free gliding movements. For larger areas it can have a center opening, so that half the shutter moves toward the right and the other half towards the left. The blades of the accordion stack out of view at the ends of the track. The accordion shutter also reduces noise and provides privacy.

Lexan polycarbonate is one of the most widely known "plastics". Lexan sheet with its unique combination of high impact strength, flame retardancy, and thermoformability makes it ideally suited for security applications. No other plastic can match Lexan's combination of light transmittance (clarity), and the ability to withstand extreme impact.
