What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is part of
Traditional Chinese Medicine. . Chinese method of treating disorders by
inserting thin needles into the skin, at specific points on the body,
manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation, to control pain and
other symptoms, by producing loss of sensation in another area. This is to
help with the flow of energy that is thought to be blocked, to restore the
body's life energy and balance (called Chi).
Acupressure
is a non-invasive form of Acupuncture.
The physician uses pressure
or localized massage to specific sites on the body to
control symptoms such as pain, stress, or nausea. The Practitioner uses
hands or
massage tools of various shapes to press acupuncture points or rub along
the
body's Meridians.
Acupressure is extremely effective in Pediatrics for infants and children
and can be used by the Practitioner and followed up with the parent at
home for maximum benefits. Most childhood diseases as well as
developmental issues are greatly benefited by Acupressure and Meridian
massage. For example: Autism, ADD, Slow development etc.
While Acupressure is used
with adults successfully, it is not always as effective as Acupuncture.
Laser or painless acu-techniques
are also non invasive choices with great effects.

Florida
In the state of Florida,
Acupuncture Physicians can be your Primary Physician (Some insurance
companies also recognize and pay as such). They can perform yearly check
ups and refer clients to specialists as well as to conventional
Physicians. They can not, at this time, prescribe any Prescription
medication. We always recommend that you will also see a conventional
medical Doctor for your health problems as we fully believe in integrating
the use of Traditional Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Your
conventional Physician can treat some conditions with more success just as
the opposite is sometimes true.
