Procedures

da Vinci® Robotic Hysterectomy
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. It may be total, that is the fundus and cervix of the uterus or partial which is the removal of the uterine body but leaving the cervical stump. Hysterectomy may be performed for a variety of reasons such as certain types of reproductive system cancers and severe endometriosis. Dr. Hayes is able to perform a more effective and minimally-invasive hysterectomy through the use of the da Vinci Robotic Surgery system. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions using the da Vinci System, she can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.

da Vinci® Robotic Myomectomy
A myomectomy is a surgical procedure in which uterine fibroids are removed from the uterus relieving such symptoms as abnormal uterine bleeding, pressure, pain, or other symptoms. Through the use of the da Vinci Robotic System, Dr. Hayes can perform a minimally-invasive myomectomy which means less downtime and recovery period.

Laser Reduction Labiaplasty (Designer Laser Vaginoplasty®)

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation®

LSH (Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy)
The top part of the uterus is responsible for our periods so LSH removes only that part. LSH uses a laparoscope and several small abdominal incisions through which instruments are used to separate the uterus from the cervix and remove it through one of the small abdominal incisions. LSH does not require a large abdominal incision and therefore involves less post-operative pain, scarring and recovery time. Most women will require only an overnight hospital stay and are back to normal activities in less than 2 weeks.

TLH (Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy)
TLH is a minimally invasive way to remove the whole uterus. It's a great solution when we don't have the vaginal looseness or stretched ligaments that would allow the uterus to be removed vaginally. TLH uses laparoscopy in the abdomen. The connections of the uterus and cervix are taken down and the top edge of the vagina is secured with strong stitches. Women usually stay one night in the hospital and return to regular activities in 2-3 weeks.

Pelvic Ultrasound
Pelvic ultrasound is a noninvasive (the skin is not pierced) procedure used to assess organs and structures within the female pelvis. It allows quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Doppler ultrasound may also show blood flow in certain pelvic organs.

Essure® Vaginal Tubal
Essure® is a progressive minimally invasive procedure to have permant birth control. Essure requires no cutting into the body. Spring-like coils are inserted through the vagina, cervix and uterus and into each fallopian tube. Essure does not contain any hormones and should not interfere with your natural menstrual cycle. It can be done in the office without general anethesia and you can return to regular activities the next day.

Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial Ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for excessive menstral bleeding. This procedure uses heated sterile water inside the uterus to create controlled scalding to the layer that creates heavy periods. Endometrial Ablation procedures take 15 minutes and are done either in the office or at an outpatient surgery center. Patients return to regular activities the following day.

Incontinence Sling
Dr. Hayes can help women with severe stress incontinence achieve bladder control by performing an incontinence sling procedure.

Vaginal Tightening

Vaginal Vault Suspension
Dr. Hayes performs the vaginal vault suspension procedure for women suffering from vaginal vault prolapse.

Uterine Suspension

Leep Cone (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure)
Dr. Hayes does the LEEP procedure in the office using a thin wire loop as a scalpel to remove a thin layer of abnormal surface cells. Medication is injected to numb the cervix (cervical block). Women are usually able to return to normal activities within 1 to 3 days.

Perineoplasty (Perineorrhaphy)

G-shot®, G-spot Amplification®
The G-Shot® is a painless office procedure performed in our office under local anesthesia. The actual injection usually takes less than 8 seconds and the total time in the examination room is usually less than 15 minutes. A specially designed speculum is used to assist in the deliver a specified amount of human engineered collagen directly into the G-Spot after local anesthesia. The G-Shot® augments (enlarges) the G-Spot. This results in a G-Spot about the size of a quarter in width, and one fourth of an inch in height (meaning the projection into the vagina). Note that results do vary but in a recent study 87% of women had a noticeable response.

Clitoral Hood Reduction
Dr. Hayes can perform a labiaplasty, or clitoral hood reduction, for women who have excess skin on the sides of the clitoris, which often causes the clitoris to look enlarged or uneven.

Hymenoplasty
For women wanting the the surgical restoration of the hymen, Dr. Hayes offers the hymenoplasty procedure, or hymen reconstruction surgery.

Jennifer S. Hayes, DO, FACOOG
Board Certified in Gynecology & Gynecologic Surgery

At Visionary Centre for Women, Dr. Jennifer Hayes combines her wisdom of over 15 years experience to provide passionate, dynamic gynecologic care for women. Her focus is on maintaining women’s vitality, quality of life and self esteem.

Dr. Hayes grew up in a family that valued the healing arts. Her father, a Pinellas County surgeon and her mother, a nurse, carried a profound respect for the medical journey from illness to wellness that she observed and now considers a great honor to be a part of. At the tender age of seven, she accompanied her father on his rounds and by age 12, she began joining him in the OR to observe surgery.

Dr. Hayes completed her undergraduate degree at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. She graduated, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University Medical School in Miami where she was president of the Women’s Academic Fraternity. Her Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty training were at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, MI. Dr. Hayes received her subspecialty training at a high-intensity, inner-city facility, Hudzel Hospital in Detroit, MI and completed her professional training at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI. She moved back to Pinellas County and opened private practice and has been here ever since.

As an innovative leader, Dr. Hayes was the 1st benign gyn surgeon in the area to offer and incorporate da Vinci robotic surgery into her practice, making her the most experienced benign GYN surgeon for robotics on Florida’s West Coast! Dr. Hayes is also the 1st board-certified gynecologist to bring Cosmetic Gynecology to Tampa Bay. She received her training in Beverly Hills at the prestigious Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America by the pioneer in the field, Dr. David Matlock, of Dr. 90210 fame.

Dr. Hayes is an expert and national speaker for Vaginal Rejuvenation, daVinci Robotic GYN Surgery, Perimenopause and Women’s Health Issues.

When she finds free time in her schedule, Dr. Hayes enjoys travel and relaxing in the ‘sanctuary of calm’ that she cultivated in her backyard by way of her interest in tropical botanical gardening. she feels by creating more beauty in nature, she is applying the healing and nurturing that are components of her medical practice to create her own healthy home environment

“I see myself as a caretaker of the wellness of women that also leads them to greater empowerment regardless of their age…it is truly a magical journey.”
