The Gulf of Mexico offshore west Florida is well known for its calm sea
conditions and excellent year round deep sea fishing. Deep sea fishing
on the Gulf of Mexico for grouper and snapper is good almost any time of
the year. Other offshore fish such as kingfish, cobia, tuna, amberjack,
Spanish mackerel, dolphin, shark, barracuda, permit, and mahi mahi are
all caught as they seasonally migrate through the deep sea waters of the

About Captain Butch Ford and Phantom
Captain Butch Ford was born in Portsmouth New Hampshire, and grew up
spending summers on the coast of New Hampshire. After graduating from
Plymouth State, in Plymouth NH, he went "fishing for a living."
Having been involved in many commercial fisheries, including off-shore
lobstering, gillnetting, and swordfishing, he worked on charter boats
out of Clearwater some winters during the 1980s, and moved here full
time in 1989. He started working on the Phantom as a deckhand in 1992,
and bought the business in 2006. You won't find a charter captain who
will work harder to make your day perfect!
Our fishing crew has been fishing the offshore waters of the Gulf of
Mexico for many years and know where and how to catch big fish. Our 35'
deep sea charter fishing boat Phantom offers a nice fishing area. This
offshore fishing charter boat is rigged for serious fishing, and easily
accommodates up to six fishing anglers. She has a large, air conditioned
cabin with lots of seating, and a full galley. A private bathroom with a
shower makes the Phantom perfect for comfort on longer trips!
